Mesa Applied Technologies is proud to have Ben Rock as a part of the Mesa Team. Ben is an accomplished Electrical Engineer with a diverse background across multiple industries, including oil & gas, water/wastewater, steel, nuclear, power, utility-scale solar, and mining. His expertise encompasses both process automation and power, showcasing a robust skill set.
He excels in designing power distribution systems and process automation systems, demonstrating proficiency in programming and commissioning. His extensive experience includes modeling power systems for short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, and coordination studies.
Ben also served as an Electrical Engineer at Construction Innovations, leading the electrical design for various products, including substation control buildings, substation skids, relay rack assemblies, control panels, and utility-scale solar field products.
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Utah, Ben worked at KEE Engineering & Consulting where he developed load flow and arc flash studies using ETAP software for municipalities and industrial applications. He performed coordination studies, commissioned PLC control systems, and supervised electrical construction for oil and gas applications. His responsibilities also included programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs, configuring Modbus communication, preparing control panel drawings, and overseeing electrical construction projects for industrial applications.
Ben Rock's wealth of experience, combined with his technical expertise and commitment to excellence, positions him as a highly skilled and capable electrical engineer in the field and at Mesa Applied Technologies.
